Phase Three: Locker Room Renovations
With the completion of the Lap Pool & Natatorium Renovation Project, we can now start Phase Three of our Capital Improvements at the East Side Branch: Locker Room Improvements. Phase Three will allow us to provide our members & program participants barrier free accessibility, improved privacy, better access to the pool, and a safer environment for all.Â
Part Two is scheduled from May 31 -September 1Â and affects the following areas:
There is no shower access in the locker room and no direct access to the Lap Pool. You will have to go to through the locker room entrance, go down the hallway and through the door at the end and down one flight of stairs to the pool.
Due to the nature of the work that is being completed, there may be some additional access changes to this locker room. The steam room will be out of service. In the meantime, please use our facilites over at our West Side Branch.

Project Updates
Phase Two: Lap Pool & Natatorium Renovation
We’re happy to announce the Wallingford Family YMCA East Side Lap Pool will reopen on February 6, 2023! There is additional work on the exterior of the natatorium that will continue for the next few weeks, but the pool will be ready for splashing next Monday at 5:00AM.
Thanks again to the State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development and the advocacy of State Representatives Mary Mushinsky, Vinny Candelora, Liz Linehan, Craig Fishbein and Senator Paul Cicarella, along with corporate & community donations, that made our $1.2m East Side Natatorium & Lap Pool Renovation Project a reality.
We would also like to thank our friends & partners at Choate Rosemary Hall for allowing us this opportunity to continue serving our Y members during construction and the other local Y’s who opened their doors to our lap swimmers in the evening.
