We work with partners in the Wallingford community to address chronic & emergent needs for adults by providing programs that support their health and inspire hope.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a national, research based program to help adult cancer survivors achieve their holistic health goals. The program offers a safe, supportive environment to participate in physical and social activities that strengthen the whole person. This free 12 week program meets twice a week for 75 minutes, using traditional exercise methods to ease participants back into fitness and help them maintain a healthy weight. Plus, learn about wellness, stress reduction and how to continue healthy habits after the program has ended. Participation in our program has been shown to improve fitness and quality of life as well as decrease cancer-related fatigue. Contact Nikki Moore for more information about this program.

Cardiac Rehab Phase IV is for individuals who completed a Phase III cardiac rehabilitation program, have experienced a cardiac event or are at risk for heart disease. Led by a certified Exercise Physiologist or Personal Trainer, this program is designed to reduce the risk of another cardiac event or help prevent an existing heart condition from getting worse. Participants will receive an initial assessment, which will result in a customized program developed to meet your needs & goals. With twice-weekly one hour sessions over a 12 week period, our staff will assist you in adopting healthy lifestyle changes through regular cardiovascular exercise, strength endurance, flexibility and balance training. With risk factor modification and the emotional support of your fellow participants and our caring staff, you will feel better and maintain your health. We offer monthly payments and financial assistance for qualifying participants.
