Race 4 Chase

What is R4C?
Race 4 Chase is a youth triathlon program that provides kids with a safe, healthy non-competitive environment to discover the sport of triathlon. Implementing a custom-designed training program, coaches provide the youth athletes with all the equipment, knowledge, and one-on-one support they need to become tri-athletes.
Race 4 Chase is named for Chase Kowalski, an amazing little boy from Newtown, who loved to run. Race 4 Chase strives to empower kids to reach their full potential. It brings together kids from all different backgrounds and educates them on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle, coaches them to develop a foundation of athletic skills, and inspires them to aim high in sports and in life.
Who is it for?
Race 4 Chase is for children ages 6-12 even if you are just starting out. You don’t even need to know how to ride a bike!
When does it run?
The program starts June 22 and runs for six weeks, with a USAT-sanctioned triathlon race at Camp Sloper on Saturday, August 1 to end the summer. Program runs Monday-Friday from 9:00AM-12:00PM.
Where is it held?
Program is held at the East Side Branch of the Wallingford Family YMCA at 81 South Elm Street.
How can I get involved?
Interested participants should fill out an application. The Wallingford Family YMCA is in our eighth year of offering this fantastic program, which has inspired over 125 local youth & their families. We started Race4Chase with a generous grant from the CMAK Foundation, and now we need your help to continue. You can help give 35 Wallingford triathletes an unforgettable experience that will leave them accomplished, inspired and
empowered. Donate today! For more information about R4C and how you can help, contact Eric Skinner.
