Inclement Weather Policies
If you would like a text if the facility is closed or opening late at 4:30AM, register for early notification here. Please make sure that you have opted in to our text message notifications & emails to ensure you are notified!
With snow headed our way, we want to let you know how to find out if the YMCA is opening late, closing early or closed for the day! We typically do not close unless driving conditions are dangerous for our members & staff.
Facility closures & changes to our regular hours will be:
- Posted on our website
- Posted on Facebook & Instagram
- On our Facility Status message – Call us at 203-269-4497 and Press 7 to get this message
- Sent as a push notification on our mobile app – this will be at 8:00AM at the earliest, so if you are looking to workout at 5:00AM, please check the other methods.
Classes & programs will follow this cancellation protocol:
Wallingford Public School DELAY
- All classes & programs are cancelled until 9:00AM
Wallingford Public School CLOSURE
- All classes & programs are cancelled until 12:00PM
- A decision will be made by 10:00AM for afternoon classes & programs
- A decision will be made by 3:00PM for evening classes & programs.
For early morning classes, a decision will be made by 9:00PM the day before.
Fitness classes that are cancelled will be marked as cancelled on our Group Exercise schedule. Those who are pre-registered for the class will receive an email alerting them if the class is cancelled.
The YMCA will make every attempt to make up classes for programs that have additional fees other than membership, but make-ups are not guaranteed.
